Master Time Management in 7 Steps
Clock in, monitor your shift, manage your history, and unlock the analytics that drive smarter decisions.
What Are the Steps?
Time tracking runs in seven steps: clock in from the dashboard, monitor the active shift, clock out, browse your history, edit an entry if needed, use the notification and home screen widget for one-tap control, and pull time reports. Hours matter because they are what turn gross earnings into a real hourly rate — the number that tells you whether a shift was actually worth working, once waiting and repositioning are counted.
Why Does Time Tracking Help You Earn More?
Most gig workers know their mileage and their gross revenue. But without tracking your hours, you're missing the metric that ties everything together: dollars per hour. Knowing you earned $800 this week means nothing until you know it took 25 hours (great) or 50 hours (not great). Your time clock is what unlocks utilization, hourly rate, and day-of-week comparisons — the analytics that help you decide which shifts are actually worth working.
TrakMiles Pro makes time tracking effortless. Clock in from the Dashboard, the notification shade, or the home screen widget. If you forget, the app reminds you when it detects driving. Your hours feed directly into your Dashboard, and pairing them with dollars per mile is what shows which work is actually worth taking widgets, revenue reports, and Time Clock analytics — no extra setup required.

How do I clock in and out?
Clock in from the dashboard with one tap, or from the notification and home screen widget without opening the app. Clocking out ends the shift and writes it to your history.
Can I edit a time entry after the fact?
Yes. Any entry in your time history can be edited if you forgot to clock out or started late. Correcting it the same day keeps the record accurate rather than approximate.
Why should a self-employed driver track hours?
Because gross pay divided by paid hours is not your real rate. Counting every hour you were working, including waiting and repositioning, is what shows the gap between what an app says you earned and what the time actually returned.
Does time tracking run in the background?
The active shift shows in a notification so you can see it running and clock out without opening the app. It tracks elapsed time rather than location, so it is separate from mileage tracking.
What do the time reports show?
Hours by day, week and period, with charts, so you can compare shifts and spot which days genuinely pay. Pair it with earnings and you can see which work is worth repeating.
